Body Scrub, Body Wrap or Massage in Nha Trang: What Is the Difference?
A body scrub, a chocolate wrap and a massage all sound like enjoyable ways to spend part of your holiday. But what does each treatment involve, and which should you choose?
A body scrub focuses on exfoliating the skin, a body wrap combines skin care with time to relax, and a massage uses hands-on techniques for relaxation or attention to muscle tension. You can enjoy them separately or bring them together in a longer spa package.
At Pure Vietnam Beauty & Spa near Dam Market in Nha Trang, we often welcome guests who have never tried a scrub or wrap before. Knowing what happens at each stage makes choosing easier, especially if you are planning a relaxing experience with your partner.

Scrub, Wrap or Massage: Quick Comparison
| Treatment | Main focus | What happens at Pure Vietnam? |
|---|---|---|
| Body scrub | Exfoliation for smoother, softer-feeling skin | Sugar or coffee scrub, a shower and, for the standalone 40-minute treatment, a 10-minute moisturising massage with body lotion |
| Body wrap | Skin care and a relaxing sensory experience | Chocolate, mango or banana is applied; you are wrapped and covered with towels, receive a 20-minute foot massage, then shower |
| Massage | Relaxation or focused work on muscle tension | Hands-on techniques in your chosen massage style, with pressure adapted to your preferences |
If your priority is softer-feeling skin, start by considering a scrub. If you want an indulgent body-care experience, a wrap is an appealing choice. If you want sustained hands-on treatment, choose massage. For time dedicated to all three, explore a combined package.
What Is a Body Scrub?
A body scrub uses a textured product to exfoliate the skin's surface. Our customers most often notice that their skin feels smoother and softer afterward.
Although the therapist uses rubbing movements, exfoliation has a different purpose from massage. The emphasis is on the skin's surface rather than focused work on tight muscles.
Sugar or Coffee: Which Scrub Should You Choose?
Sugar is our most popular body scrub. In our treatments, it provides a more abrasive texture than coffee while still being used gently. It appeals to guests who prefer a more thorough-feeling scrub and those who do not enjoy the smell of coffee.
Our coffee scrub offers a less abrasive alternative within our two scrub options. If you enjoy the aroma of coffee and prefer a lighter exfoliating texture, it may be your preferred choice.
Tell us how your skin feels before treatment. Your preference matters, but the suitability of exfoliation also depends on your skin's condition.
What Happens During Your Body Scrub?
You are given underwear to wear, and areas not being scrubbed are draped with a sarong for privacy. Your therapist begins with your back, neck and shoulders, followed by your legs.
You then turn over so the front of your body can be treated, including your chest, stomach, décolletage and legs. Draping is adjusted as the therapist moves between areas.
After the scrub, you take a shower to remove the product. Our staff assist with removing it from your back, where it can be difficult to reach.
If you have booked a scrub on its own, you return to the massage table for a 10-minute moisturising massage with body lotion. The complete standalone scrub appointment lasts 40 minutes, including the scrub, shower and moisturising massage.
If you are having a scrub-and-wrap package, the wrap is the next stage after your shower. See our body treatments menu for the available options.
What Is a Body Wrap?
A body wrap gives you time to rest while a body-care preparation remains on your skin. At Pure Vietnam, the experience includes product application, wrapping, a foot massage and a shower.
Many guests choose their wrap according to the smell they enjoy and the feeling of indulgence they want. You do not need to be familiar with spa treatments to enjoy the experience.
Chocolate, Mango or Banana?
- Chocolate: Our most popular wrap, made with pure chocolate powder and milk. Guests love its rich aroma and decadent feel.
- Mango: Made with pure mango, offering a fresh, tropical alternative for guests who prefer fruit to chocolate.
- Banana: Made with pure banana. Less frequently chosen, but another option for guests who enjoy a fruit-based treatment.
We prepare these wraps using the ingredients described above, without added fragrances or other additives. Tell us about any food or skin-contact allergies before choosing, including milk, chocolate, mango or banana sensitivities.
The appeal is straightforward: a pleasant body-care experience, time to unwind and skin that guests often describe as feeling smoother and cleaner. We do not promise that a wrap will remove cellulite, erase scars or reverse ageing.
What Happens During Your Body Wrap?
You lie on the massage table on a single-use plastic sheet. Your therapist applies the preparation promptly to help keep you comfortable, beginning with the back of your body.
You then turn over for application to the front. Once the preparation has been applied, you are wrapped in the sheet and covered with towels.
While you relax, your therapist gives you a 20-minute foot massage. This is part of our wrap experience, giving you hands-on attention while the body preparation remains in place.
Afterward, you shower to remove the product. If your package includes a full massage, you return to the table for that next stage.
How Is Massage Different from a Scrub or Wrap?
Massage centres on hands-on techniques: strokes, pressure and movements chosen according to the style and your preferences. A session may emphasise relaxation, flowing movements or attention to particular areas of muscular tightness.
A scrub includes contact with the skin, and our wraps include a foot massage, but neither is the same as a full massage session.
At Pure Vietnam, you can choose from styles including Deep Tissue, Traditional Old Style Lomi Lomi, Vietnamese, Relaxation and Aromatherapy Massage. Any of our massage styles can be selected as part of a tailored package. Explain the experience you prefer when booking.
Our consultation form helps you identify areas to focus on or avoid and communicate your preferred pressure. You can ask your therapist to adjust pressure during the session. Explore our massage treatments in Nha Trang to compare the styles.

Combining a Scrub, Wrap and Massage in One Spa Package
If you have a few hours available, a package lets you enjoy the different experiences together. At Pure Vietnam, the sequence is:
- Body scrub: Exfoliation, followed by a shower.
- Body wrap: Product application, wrapping and a 20-minute foot massage, followed by another shower.
- Massage: Time to settle back onto the table for your selected full massage.
The shower between stages removes the previous treatment before the next begins. Rather than choosing between skin care and massage, you have time for both.
Our Recommendation for First-Time Guests
Our 2½-Hour Body Package is our recommendation for a first spa-package experience. It combines a sugar scrub, chocolate wrap and 90-minute massage, introducing you to all three treatments in one visit.
It is particularly popular with partners who want a relaxing shared experience that lasts longer than a massage alone.
Our treatments and packages range from a 40-minute body scrub to a five-hour spa experience, with options incorporating facials and massage. Visit our spa packages page for current inclusions and prices.
A Relaxing Spa Experience for Couples in Nha Trang
A scrub, wrap and massage package is a popular choice for couples at Pure Vietnam. You can enjoy the treatments in the same room, spending a few unhurried hours together during your holiday.
Partners often choose the same package, but you can select different packages if your preferences differ. Tell us what each person would like when booking so we can plan the arrangements and timing.
For many guests, the attraction is simply trying something new together. If you have previously booked only massage, adding a scrub and wrap creates a longer experience with different textures, aromas and time to relax between stages.
Learn more about our couples spa and massage experience, and book ahead so we can arrange your therapists and room.
Can We Tailor a Spa Package to Your Needs?
Yes. We can add or remove treatment steps and increase the length of the massage. You might prefer to skip exfoliation, combine a wrap with a longer massage or include a facial in your visit.
Tell us how much time you have, which treatments interest you and whether you are visiting alone or with a partner. We can discuss a combination that suits your preferences and confirm the duration and price before you book.
Before and After Your Treatment
Tell us about sunburn, recent injuries, open wounds, allergies or irritated skin before treatment. We postpone or adapt treatments where appropriate. If you have recently been waxed, tell your therapist: the waxed area is not scrubbed.
After your visit, no complicated aftercare routine is needed. If you are heading to the beach, use sunscreen and take your usual sun-protection precautions. A scrub, wrap or moisturising lotion does not provide sun protection.

Our standalone scrub takes 40 minutes. That includes exfoliation, a shower and a 10-minute moisturising massage with body lotion.

Yes. We can increase massage time and add or remove steps to tailor your package. Contact us to discuss your preferred combination, duration and price.
